Another inspiring post, Paul, oozing with sanity. JFC is right. We're surrounded by hordes of fascist deniers along with the growing number of outright fascists, and that's not counting the elite fools in power busy doing their utmost to "disguise the gravity of the hour," or the legions of morons pessimistically pissing on the prospect of planet-saving eco-socialist governance. Meanwhile, a lot of young Americans are leaving the Amerikaner Project they were born into, setting out for Denmark and other countries they deem as saner players on the world stage.
The problem is, the Whole Earth is on fire, dying from the relentless insults of predatory global capitalism, so there is really no escape. The only way out of this dilemma is through, as they say in recovery circles, challenging us to let go of our addictions to fossil fuels, consumerism and the exploitive structures of class-conscious, hierarchical society and undertaking the work of saving Pacha Mama, one day at a time from where we are right now. Your piece proves that all one needs to spark a revolution of consciousness is an elegant, well-informed mind and a comfortable couch. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Paul , I like how you describe the variety of ways people chose to escape facing the fascist threat...perhaps the most dangerous escapism is to say we are already a fascist society with a complacency towards what second election of Trump would mean. Well put Stewart!
Try "Fisherman's Friend" if you have a cough...and rest of course.
