The older I get the further left I go but thinking that a socialist revolution will be led by communists in a society that has been conditioned to believe that communism is evil is a stretch. Paul "I am a Communist" Street (PIAACS) needs to refine the pitch. The pitch has to be, in the wake of nationwide general strikes: Privatization has failed. The People demand that the oligarchs SURRENDER. New Constitutional Convention. Elected Upper House and Sortition Lower House---the house with the purse power and final legislative power. All office elections publicly funded and guess what it won't be expensive because all channels must provide free airtime for candidates. Anything that we all need: Banking, food, energy, defense, healthcare, telecoms---must be publicly owned. You want to open up a restaurant, make art, clothes innovate whatever go ahead. We need a diamond economy not a pyramid--high achievers should gain the credit and appreciation of society, so there will be a few wealthy at the top and a few poor at the very bottom, but the vital middle is solid and secure. No more Plutonomy and Precariat.

"The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government." George Washington. Washington's Farewell Address, 1796.

That "we the people" have not organized to hold a popular convention to modernize, democratize, or socialize our political and economic systems is our collective failure. That said, I trust the majority of Americans can and will create the kind of nation we want to be, if they understand they have the right, power and obligation to do so when necessary. Clearly, the government is now an existential threat to our society and it must be PEACEFULLY ABOLISHED AND REPLACED.

It's time to organize for a new popular constitutional convention, where Americans can deliberate over how they will be represented and how they will hold their government accountable, or if they want to have a socialists or communist party etc. Currently we have very poor representation and no accountability, the political parties are beyond repair, obviously.
