I heard this Trumpenleft line consistently throughout the Trump presidency...to see it stilll trotted out nearly two years after the 2020 election and then 1/6/2021 is dark comedy though predictable. When MSDNC complains about "the horror of Jan 6." or "the threat to Democracy in Jan 6" in their soft, WASP, condescending manner, (as if that were shame enough to tame a completely deviant destructive desecrating out of control GOP as you point out) they are not really worried about the perfecting or state of "Democracy" ! They are merely worried about the bad "APPEARANCE" of the Jan 6 fracas.
The DNC defeats "Democracy" every chance they get. Lest we forget, in the deepest irony, Biden, in a way, did steal the election: he was "anointed" winner of the primary, when DNC stopped it while Biden was running a strong 4th (strong 4th place!). They stopped the primary cold. They cut side deals (jobs/payoffs...) with the lead candidates, and then party high command (ever thought you'd hear that phrase in connection with Murican politics? Well it finally happened!) anointed Biden the winner.
It's such a synergistic kabuki. But not quite a democracy. Demented script. But corporations needn't fear: their desired outcomes are assured.
