I was a White Sox kid, on the South Side, but still the Cubs' implosion was hard to watch. LOL. You had a guy named Tommy Agee who I remember was the AL Rookie of the Year with the 1967 Chicago White Sox. I remember watching young Agee at Comiskey Park and was pissed that he got traded.
U.S. baseball basically a capitalist enterprise even as we get involved with sport aspects. The Mets sold Seaver the same way. I started out a Dodger fan cause of Robinson. When I was a kid you get into Ebbets Field with ten Dixie cup covers. Pissed when they left but was at the first Met's game at the Old Polo grounds. Fidel always wanted to pitch in the majors....
