It’s interesting that neither Roger Stone or Steve Bannon have been indicted for the January 6th coup. Also on TikTok, a guy who has a fairly sizeable platform, was decrying the fact that Biden is running again against Trump and suggested that the Democrats field instead a ticket of Gretchen Whitmer(governor of Michigan) and Raphael Warnock( Georgia Senator). He was literally giddy over that idea and was basically promoting identity politics via this ticket pairing.[Whitmer is Jewish and Warnock is an African American minister who preached at the same pulpit that Dr MLK, Jr preached at].
Before the mass flight of the Southern fascist racists from the Dems to the GOP in the early 70s, the financial Dems had a demagogue to hide behind. With the ascent of the Clintons, Obama, and Biden, the neolibs were exposed for the fascists they are. The fact that it has taken so long for working people to realize it just shows how good at fooling people the establishment Dems were. Now they are out there for all to see, still playing parliamentary parlor games, as they lose more voter support daily.
They are complicit with fascism, enablers of it but no they cling to capitalist bourgeois democracy and rule of law inside the imperial homeland. The Dems are terrible, the leading party of empire but not a fascist party.
You're telling me that the Senator from Delaware Corporate Haven is avoiding shmoozing with businessmen instead of regulating them? That fits my def of (cough cough) fascism, maybe with a string of adjectives before the foul word. But I also agree we should be clearly making meaning when we speak; I'm just too culturally numb to do that sometimes. I appreciate it when you contrast the felon population by privilege. With all the disgusting courtroom antics of the upper class felons on display for all to see, it would be a good time to raise the issue even more. I'm inspired by the authors in Liz Theoharis' anthology, "We Cry Justice". Thanks.
This talk got transcribed and published at CounterPunch https://www.counterpunch.org/2023/09/01/two-clarifications-on-what-it-means-to-meaningfully-refuse-american-fascism-in-the-age-of-trump/
