Just as you make a distinction between neo-fascism and neo-liberalism, you should make distinctions about the functioning of the "whole damn capitalist-imperialist system". A plague on all your houses is too abstract, especially when your alternative is a pie-in-the-sky call for socialist revolution devoid of any serious analysis of the limitations of existing agencies of revolutionary change. The foremost struggle going on in the world today is between the U.S. seeking to maintain and extend its world domination, at the cost of the unnecessary suffering and death of millions, and the Russian and Chinese led counter drive to a multipolar world. These are not ethically or socially equal equivalents.
The book ends with critique of the whole damn system. What you call pie in the sky is an existential necessity. I totally reject the multiporista world view. I'm a revolutionary socialist internationalist with zero interest in advancing capitalist-imperialist Russia and capitalist-imperialist China. I could go on about the different problems I see in your comment but it would be an essay.
Your writing style has many long sentences. I kinda get lost halfway way through them...sometimes.. Your point gets lost. Hope (for me, at least) your book is a better read.
Your 19 points on trumpinleft thinking; I disagree on some of them. Of course your prolific voice is one of many opinions out there. So many! Ever change your mind on an issue or are you trapped in your own echochamber.
Excellent critique of a part of the left. It should be extended to the "anti-imperialist" left's critique of Russia's defense against the US/NATO planned expansion to Ukraine with the genuine threat that posed to Russia's national security. This goes along with the intellectual bankruptcy involved in demonizing Putin as an explanation for the war in Ukraine. It's a shame that even the paperback version of your book is so expensive, with the inevitable result that it will limit sales.
I am an all red zero brown critic of the US-Russia proxy war in Ukraine. I don't control Routledge pricing. I wish the book was cheaper and would encourage some interested readers to forego their next trip to Olive Garden (terrible knock off Italian food!) and use the money saved to purchase my masterful volume. I recommend multiple copy purchases since you never know, you could misplace your first two copies. I recommend three per person. I am perfectly happy to demonize that butcher Putin while simultaneously demonizing Biden and the US Empire and NATO and the whole damn capitalist-imperialist system. Demonize em all. F the Pentagon. F the Kremlin. F the White House. F the Wagner Group. No fan of Ze either.
Well Paul, I bought your latest book. Arrived today. Hope it does a better job than this article in explaining how some lefties thinkers gave false arguments in defense of Trump
Good luck with your reading comprehension issue. :) One person's incomprehensible mess is another person's clear prose --- I just got two emails calling this the clearest breakdown they've ever seen of the bullshit they were reading from the TL jackanapes 2016-21. It's not at all my job and was not my ambition to explain how these "leftties" think the dumb shit they think. Seriously. Give it a second try to and see that I simply state and then counter 18 messed up ideas. Reading the whole chapter (which breaks down the false academic narratives that informed some of this TL horseshit) and the one after (which shows the empirical bankruptcy of the Trumpenproletariat narrative) may be helpful.
I am having issues with Substack....there are edits that I can make and see via my phone but cannot make and see via my PC. Thus for example near the end the word "grave" reads properly as "grave" on my phone but reads incorrectly as "gave" on my PC. There has been a steady deterioration of the relationship between my PC and the Substack site. I am trying to reach out to a human being to explain a fix.
yes, all bad and getting worse on pc. On phone I can both make and see edits. On phone can do neither. Cannot add subscriber buttons on PC. I'll try to sort this out tomorrow.
Thank you. I took the liberty to cheerfully quote you.

I'm the greatest wtiter who ever lived and as such I never ever change my mind about anything!

If I get more paid subscriptions I can hire a copy editor. Seriously, that would be super,
