I want to second Paul's request that more of us becoming financial supporters of this Substack so he can continue to produce so much urgent analysis for all of us. Hate paywalls? Me too. That means people who are uncompromising opponents of capitalism will need our support to continue this indispensable work. And btw, share his work too, invite more people to subscribe, also important contributions.

Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it.

The United States has always been a fascist regime, democracy is a ruse. Democrats are fascists too. And god was the first fascist.

there are changes in domestic forms and structures of governance. I agree that fascism is deeply rooted in American history. I think the US went ominously proto-fascist in 1917-21. I do not obejct to calling the Jim Crow South fascist. The whole country transitioning from bourgeois democracy and rule of law (such as they are, covers for a de facto class rue dictatorship) to neofascistic/white Christian nationalist governance is starting to look like a qualitative shift 2016-20?? for future historians to reflect up assuming there will be any future historians.

Nice rant Paul.

When people can't listen to good arguments made by you and many others because...because...probably because the system has propagandized them into walking zombies what else can one do but rant in utter disgust. (And we thought the 60's were crazy)

Rant on Paul. I rant too. But ranting doesn't help win the argument it just makes them dig in the heels.

Hope you and Oreo are staying out of the lake side heat and humidity.

I have to keep Oreo out of Iowa waterways because agribusiness has poisoned the state's streams, lakes, and rivers. And its too bad because whenever I head out with her to Sand Lake a bit north of here she wants to dive in so bad. Lake Michigan is cleaner. I don't know if this is quite a rant, really. It's kinda slow and academic. This isn't agitator voice, more like professor voice. And it's evidence-based. Note that I cite very specific things/facts...the precise language of Biden's comment in the debate debacle, the precise history of Biden's past policy positions, the specific data on approval ratings, the ignored Russian history, etc, etc, etc. I think you are sort of referencing the scientifically documented problem of cognitive dissonance: the more you cite things that contradict a deeply held belief the more many believers' dig in with the belief. It's a real problem.

Whether in rant mode or professorial mode. You tell it like it is.

Thnx. To quote fellow Chicagoan Mike Royko, "I May be Wrong But I Doubt It." To keep up with Oreo and "Paul Street's Wild Animal Kingdom," keep an eye on my Facebook Paul Louis Street.
