Right wingers enjoy the idea that happiness stems from being an asshole. They proceed from the false premise that acquiring domination and control (mostly money based) equals some kind of ultimate self actualization. What they consider the benevolent application and projection of paternalistic power (violence) is simply the right thing to do. They believe this is how nature demands that things must be. Thinking too much and trying to change "the rules" is very, very wrong. They childishly imagine that robber barons and titans of industry are the happiest people on earth. A good question to ponder: who is happier, person A with a boot on their neck, or person B with their boot on the neck? Are either happy? But, that it thinking too much, of course. It is obvious that person B is happy. This kind of abject non thinking gives right wingers faith that the capitalist system is always aiming for good. What could make anyone more happy than being the boss? To say they have a few limitations and blinds spots is, well... let's at least say, an understatement?
