What M. St. Mitchels said below! I'm also very frustrated and mostly angry especially with friends who don't get it or don't want to get it, who don't notice or want to see the flagrant lying and hypocrisy and destruction. The same old bullshit from politicians, political parties, electoral politics and Anything said by the demonic so-called forth estate, all brought to us by capitalism pretending to be democracy. I don't listen or read much conventional news which is so obviously fake news. All Americans can't possibly be so stupid; Can they?? Thank G-d for you Paul and other true progressives who are withstanding the disgust and exhaustion to tell us the truth about the way things are. You must be supported for your reporting and I do and I can appreciate the personal cost to you. Huge Thanks

In the midst of this horrific mess we are all witnessing, you'll inevitably get worn out by frustration every so often, or you aren't trying, or do not understand what you are seeing. It stands to reason you would be a bit worn out confronting what you list above. Hard work is its own reward? Maybe. But maybe you just get tired, especially when the bullshit never stops, it just seems to increase. For some reason I cannot explain, I just listened to Trump's speech in Green Bay, which resulted in a near total suspension of my cognitive faculties for about 20 minutes. I am just now beginning to recover.

Regarding UIC vs U of C (and so much more) your observations are right on. Though you may not have been explicit about it, unlike UIC students, I suspect most U of C students are coming from a very different set of expectations if not always socioeconomic status. And UofC students have more tuition dollars are at risk.

I’ve been attending the rallies for Gaza in Chicago almost weekly. I take the Metra electric from the south suburbs. I typically see about a dozen U of C students get on at Hyde Park who are also on the way to rally. That’s not a lot. But like you mentioned β€” not all the students ignored you when you were out with the Revcoms at their campus. And that is more students than you would get from all the frat and sorority houses at any state university.
