Thanks, Paul, for noting what most correspondents have ignored. I am old enough to remember the lethalities of Mussolini and Hitler's fascism and the apathy that allowed their raise. Of course,"those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." But, all who consciously ignore this parallel, deserve to be doubly loathed.
Also you must not follow my writing if you think I'm not focused on numerous big and grave issues beyond Trump (today's post is actually about the select committee's head in the sand regarding fascism, racism,, white Christian nationalism, BTW)... I mean, wtf... 😂....look at my essays here this year. Unreal. You are aware I presume that Trump is still very much the GOP frontrunner for 2024 even if he could well get passed by his fellow and arguably more dangerous Republifascist DeSantis. Geez
Thanks but it seems like you didn't actually read my words. You need to read this again. Seriously. And wait until you read the bigger essay of which this is a small part. One of its key points is precisely that the report is over-focused on Trump. That said, that point is strongly suggested in this post. Read more carefully, perhaps. Nothing personal cuz this problem is endemic in online reading ....
I agree with you that the January 6 insurrectionists, and the Republican Party in general, are fascists. But I am not sure that the January 6 Committee actually "bent over backward to avoid the F-word," as you say, as though they made great efforts to avoid that word. I find it quite plausible that the committee is not very consciously aware of the presence of fascism or racism, if they themselves are somewhat fascistic and racist. Those words rarely enter their perceptions, their analyses, their thinking, and they wouldn't have to make any effort to avoid those words. In fact, it would take some effort for them to use those words. If you ask them "isn't this fascism or racism," they might reply, "oh, that idea hadn't occurred to me, I don't usually think in those terms, I'd have to give that some thought."
And the Republicans are not much worse than the Democrats. Look at Biden's long history.
All of the USA's many, many, many wars are bipartisan. Carl von Clausewitz said war is "a continuation of political intercourse carried on with other means." I don't accept that, and I'm sure you don't either, but it appears to me that most members of congress in both parties do. They consider it normal to go to war whenever that might be profitable. That might explain why members of congress are not eager to prosecute anyone for that little kerfuffle on 1/6/ '21.
What is a Nazi, after all? It is someone who wants to restore control of society to the people who =should= be in control -- the worthy people, the deserving people, the people with a glorious past and future, the successful (and therefore superior) people, the people who God obviously prefers.
No the dismal Dems on the committee and definitely/totally Raskin are aware and are yes bending backwards just like I said. You do not understand the difference between a capitalist party that has gone fascist and a capitalist party that remains attached to what's left of bourgeois democracy and rule of bourgeois law. The Dems are a complicit Weimar Party and an evil terrible capitalist imperialist party of war and ecocide and numerous related horrors. Want a Lenin Prize for knowing that, fine. But Trotsky and Mao prizes withheld for not grasping the difference between the two dominant capitalist parties, both of which I loathe.

Good points on evasiveness. Your scribe on Your uncle at the table was Street smarts at its best. Concise and direct-a good organizing method.
Your energy is impressive, but a real pause is what Dr. Feelgood might suggest for continued success.
Happy, Heathy New Years!
Forget about him
Move on
So many bigger issues to deal with.
Stay focused Paul.
*Happy New Year one and all*
****Peace****

So Raskin did say the F-word, maybe the only mention.
