Our local (Silver City, NM) Fourth of July parade is a big deal for the town. Indivisible is participating and strongly encouraging a "patriotic" motif. The rationale is not to offend, and maybe to expand support (by remaining inoffensive and patriotic) Does this seem hypocritical, self-defeating or strategic (or worse)?

Question...what do you think SCOTUS could possibly, at this point, gain in exchange for crowning him Fuhrer? SCOTUS lost ANY residual regard after their ridiculous word salad, dancing on heads of pins, twisted words re birth right citizenship.

Yah, ...heard Mrs bozo wants an even larger gem, and muskilini's baby mama's are demanding more and more.

I believe there won't be an election. If there is, it will be of the banana republic type...

Not me. Institutions - all of them - have failed us....including the "faith" community. SCOTUS is illegitimate. So....we the people are on our own...

“SCOTUS is illegitimate.”

The culmination of Mitch McConnell’s 20-year-long undertaking to reshape the federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court*, solidly underscoring his reputation of having done far more “to” this country than “for” it. There might be enough room on his gravestone to inscribe “Did More Than His Fair Share of Damage to the Nation” in his forty years in the Senate.

“So....we the people are on our own…”

This, of course, is the essence of neoliberalism, as famously stated by Margaret Thatcher in a 1987 interview, "There is no such thing as society," emphasizing her belief that individuals and families are responsible for their own well-being rather than relying on government support.

It also makes it easier for them to pick us off, if there are no social structures with which to safeguard us. What’s that cable show, “Naked and Afraid”? That will soon replace “E Pluribus Unum” as our national motto.

*The Honorable John G. Roberts, Jr. Can you think of a more ridiculous, hypocritical, condescending, in-your-face word combination?

Here in Boston the 4th of July is observed with the Boston Pops playing the "1812 Overture" from the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade on the Boston side the Charles River across from Cambridge (yes, where Harvard is) with members of the National Guard firing blank shells from howitzers when the cannonade part comes in the music. Word has it that the Trump has ordered live artillery shells be used instead this year to highlight the celebration.
