I agree with Paul, Senator Sanders. It's late in the game you must know. It's of the utmost importance that you wake up to the ugly murderous Fascism we are directly experiencing now, not maybe, here in the USA and around the world. And it's getting much worse fast. Read the history of the time between the 2 World Wars.
Many have trusted you and been disappointed. You walked away from the fight twice. You could have saved the lives off millions who are being victimized by the current corrupt system of government where mostly money talks. Just your name could have brought the vision of something better if you hadn't copped out to the DNC
You know what I'm talking about.
Get up, Stand up! You gave up the platform and now you're going to go on the road. Maybe to save the world.
Would that we could get all the living former presidents, vice presidents, cabinet members and others with a high profiles and networks to band together to sign the RF Declaration. Politics Girl called them out 4 months ago for not stepping up in some fashion. (I would have called them “former elected officials” instead of “Our Leaders”). Signing the Declaration and visibly supporting RF would be wonderful. Where are they all? No guts.
Just to pick up on “Obama’s ridiculous 2004 statement that ‘there's not a liberal America and a conservative America…. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America.’” That must have been at the same time he was shilling his “post-partisan politics” campaign theme, one of those de rigueur, and lame, catchphrases politicians have to come up with (e.g., Politics of Joy, MAGA, We Are Not Going Back)
My nascent political awareness coincided with that “post-partisan” vacuousness and I knew right then and there this guy wasn’t for me. I didn’t want a post-partisan politics, with its smug, implicit “sure you’ve been robbed, abused, humiliated, violated, but we’re past that now, and you should be too.”
Nah, that’s not the politics I wanted, I wanted a politics of getting back everything, and then some with interest, they’ve stolen from us since the Reagan era. Needless to say not only am I still waiting, in the interim to the present day they’ve taken even more (and with the passage of that Big, Beautiful, Budget-Buster Bill today, they’ve laid in place continued grifting into the next… forever?).
Of course the concomitant fascism setting up around us like concrete assures that the overall scam will remain impervious to all assaults mounted against it.

PS – On a related note, does anyone know where they get these masked ICE goons and thugs? I figure most are ex-military (or rejected/less-than-honorably-discharged therefrom), certainly prior experience as bouncers, Proud Boy-types, likely even Jan. 6th pardons, or have done time on other charges, including assault and battery. Any thoughts?
Democrats don’t seem to have a problem with Tyranny when it comes dyed in blue. As with previous Democratic administrations. Bernie had his chance, but bowed to the rigged prospects of a Hellory Clinton regime, and a proxy war with Russia four years sooner. The uni party doesn’t know the meaning of peace. Neocon, neoliberal—both come in one color only—blood soaked red.
I didn’t know he had threatened to strip Mamdani of his citizenship, but of course he would do that. He probably admires the Nuremberg Laws and more recent examples, like Shamima Begum in the UK. If your ethnicity is seen as a threat, there’s no naturalisation and hoop-jumping that will protect you.
There is something so endemic, so embedded, so rooted in the collective and individual US mentality. It is a denialism, or cowardice, or stupidity, or naitvete, or fear to see and admit the abyss into which we are sinking and sunk. I sadly think it goes back as far back as the first European immigrants, invaders, or Englsih and German speaking conquerors. Not all were conventional warriors or soldiers, but there was a basic belief that they had a divine right to arrive in this territory and take possession of it, and this belief has never disappeared. It is the basis of colonial settlerism, brutal capitalism, and religious belief that might rules. Sometimes it is openly brutal and violent, often it is this, and at other times not openly, physically violent but just as determined and can coexist with democratic declarations and even religious declarations of loving one another, but in the final analysis it is acquisitive. The Roman Catholic Church, and pretty much the Protestant, have seven deadly or mortal sins. I mention this because it is so historically part of the US narrative. I have come to see that the most deadly of all seven is lust or greed. Until we have the integrity and enlightenment to recognize and confront this, the abyss has no bottom.
Even after this weird economistic fascism-denialism now in year nine there's a big Bernie cult. He should shift his rhetoric. He knows I'm right and so do a bunch of his backers but their notions of pragmatism and realism keep them chirping lately about "oligarchy" showing "tendencies towards authoritarianism" +Lol) even as the Hitlerian Trump fascist juggernaut doubles down day after day. Of course we have an oligarchy...courtesy of the capitalist mode of production and the US political capitalist superstructure. Getting rid of that requires an actual revolution, not votes for less awful Dems.

Read my 2008, 2010, and 2020 books on Wall Street Barry, Weimar Dem par excellence. They're pretty good

Why would anyone take Bernie Sanders seriously at this point. He has thoroughly verified his sheepherder credentials.

Look at this absurdity: https://www.counterpunch.org/2025/07/02/paramounts-surrender-to-trump/? "Moving us towards authoritarianism." Jesus, talk about a ridiculous level of understatement.
