Yesterday at State and 9th Street in Chicago’s South Loop a young Black woman said this to me: “why so many people naming their dog Oreo?!” I said “well its the black and white of course but I didn’t name her and it’s the name she responds to now for many years.” She said “well, then you don’t have to change it.”
