I'm still wearing my "Save the Whales" T-shirt from the 1980's. Back then it was cool. Now the young people just sneer at me.

I don't even know what a "whale" is. I just thought it would help me pick up chicks!

Hot damn!,, don't the truth sting like a giant hornet?? What do you suppose would happen if such truth as is presented here, was actually taught in our schools ?? Think we could handle it? Must we forever BS ourselves with lies and fabrications?

I don't think you missed a thing in the litany of truths you produced, Paul. There are liars, cowards, ignoramus's, people all over the country who either don't know, can't understand, can't alter their trajectory, can't face the steps we need to take to face reality or who benefit from the way thing are.

Tragic.

Dear Dr. Street, You are like the Temperance movement advocate who walks into a bar, overturns all the tables and takes a hatchet to the bar. It's kind of upsetting but you've got a legitimate complaint.

One might want to examine Dr. Morris Berman's idea about Tribalism vs. Crtical Thinking. Or, in other terms mimasis vs. second order thinking.

Many Americans don't want to think critically. That's for the "pointy headed" elites in the blue states. They want to be told what to think and what to do by a dominant authoritarian leader like Trump. For a good insight into how the authoritarian mind works see Dr. Robert Altemeyer's book, "The Authoritarians."
