The picture depicts the vicious capitalist execution of four framed Chicago radical labor leaders and social revolutionaries, killed on false charges essentially at the command of the retail baron Marshall Field (there’s nothing like bourgeois democracy) in the fall of 1887.

I was living down the street when Chicago police raided and killed Black Power associates. I went to the apartment to see for myself in the morning. Saw the bullet holes from the guns that killed them in their beds and chairs. No return to normalcy for sure but a return to organizing the working poor.
