+2. Reviewing intelligent reflections on Trump’s Iran war from liberals Paul Krugman (resumption suggests coming federal interference in the elections if not their cancellation) and Timothy Snyder (the war is well-suited to a Trump coup).
+3. The criterion for establishing an analysis’s truth is whether or not it accurately captures objective reality. Truth does not have a class or a race or a gender or a culture or a nationality or a sexual orientation or a party or an ideology.
4. Trump’s national address last Thursday night (July 16th) may have been a “dud” as far as the mainstream political culture was concerned (ABC, NBC, and CNN refused to broadcast it for some very good reasons and the same goes for FOX News’ failure to give it attention), but it was successful as a kind of starter’s gun for the MAGA fascist faithful’s assault on the midterms. Gentlemen, start your engines: the fascist attack is on.
5. That address amazingly said nothing about his resumed war on Iran. Also deleted were the coming air quality crisis (underway on July 16th) and the cyclospora epidemic (which was underway by July 10th and may well have resulted from Trump’s cuts to the CDC).
6. If you think we can fix this by voting you are delusional. Only a sustained mass nonviolent popular uprising can defeat the Trump fascist regime.
