My Most Recent Interview On the Brilliant and Indispensable Refuse Fascism Podcast

I decided to save my latest reflection on the Israel-Hamas War for CounterPunch tomorrow (please look for it on counterpunch.org) for four reasons:

1. I’d like to get back to having more pieces originally published there, where I have a long history.

2. I really want to folks here to listen to my latest interview on the remarkable and badly underestimated podcast of the organization Refuse Fascism, on whose editorial board I sit. This indispensable podcast is hosted by Samantha Goldman. She and her team have for more than two years done brilliant work finding intellectuals, academics, journalists, lawyers, authors, and activists — some quite well-known and others not — to interview and engage with on the very real threat of fascism taking hold in the world’s most powerful nation.

3. I notice that the menacing/fascising awfulness of US domestic politics, which has been heating up in recent weeks, has since last Friday been pushed off the media screens by Israel-Hamas atrocity and war fever. Ms. Goldman did this interview with me less than a day after the Hamas attacks. It took place when the domestic US fascism problem was considerably more front and center in US-American minds (my own included) than it has been since the horrific Middle East drama took over (By the way, I participated in a giant march in support of the Palestinian people in downtown Chicago yesterday).

4. I think Ms. Goldman and I had an especially good and (at the risk of sounding self-complimentary) important conversation about the fascistic madness afoot right here in the belly of the imperialist beast.
