The Orange Assface's Fascist Reflex: Blame "Wokeness"

Evidence is Irrelevant

The fascist Trump formula is as obvious as it is offensive: absurdly, opportunistically, and reflexively blame everything you can on supposedly “radical left” and “woke” liberalism without the slightest concern for evidence to back the at once neo-McCarthyite, racist, and sexist accusation.

Epic wildfires result from a drought that is the consequence of fossil-capitalist Greenhouse Gassing and global warming sweeps through Los Angeles County displacing thousands, leveling whole neighborhoods, and killing dozens?

The Orange Assface of Fascist Hate (OAFH) ridiculously claims that California’s “radical left” — actually centrist corporate —- Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom (who Trump insanely calls “Newscum”) created the tragedy by diverting water from southern California in order to “save a fish” hippie environmentalists want to protect.

That there isn’t a hint of a wisp of a scent of an iota of a shred of scientific evidence for this accusation is irrelevant. It’s totally besides the Orwellian fascist point.

In the meantime, Trump has signed an executive order opening up vast swaths of the continent and its shores for expanded oil and gas drilling, helping escalate the very climate crisis behind the unfolding environmental disaster. He is tearing up environmental regulations with abandon and has installed a de facto representative of the eco-cidal fossil fuel industry to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The day before the Christian Eco-Fascist US Senate confirmed that new EPA chief (Lee Zeldin), the OAFH dismissed members of the EPA’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee and Science Advisory Board.

So it’s worse than just falsely blaming “woke” and “radical left” liberalism for the wildfires in California – it’s about falsely blaming environmental wokeness for the calamity while actively accelerating the core problem behind the calamity: capitalogenic ecocide.

A horrific collision between a military helicopter and a commercial passenger jet above the Potomac River at the Reagan National Airport in Washington DC –— the biggest air tragedy in the country in many years, at the cost of 67 lives?

Without the slightest hint of evidence, the OAFH immediately blames the carnage on “woke liberalism.” As the New York Times reported two days ago:

“President Trump blamed diversity requirements at the Federal Aviation Administration and his two Democratic predecessors for the midair collision over the Potomac River on Wednesday night, saying that standards for air traffic controllers had been too lax…Mr. Trump cited no evidence that diversity programs had anything to do with the fatal accident, which killed 67 people, and even admitted when pressed that the investigation had only just begun…Moments later, he blamed the pilots of the Army helicopter that appeared to fly into a passenger jet while it was on final approach to Reagan National Airport, across the river from the capital. But he quickly returned to the theme that diversity goals that he said were created by President Barack Obama and President Joseph R. Biden Jr. had created unsafe skies, implying that those moves had to have contributed to the disaster….Mr. Trump’s instant focus on diversity reflected his instinct to frame major events through his political or ideological lens, whether the facts fit or not.”

Total fascist socio-pathology!

And completely predictable. The minute I heard about the crash yesterday morning, I posted the following question on (anti-)social media: “Has Trump blamed the airplane-helicopter crash over the Potomac on Wokeness yet?”

Some folks thought I was joking. Not at all.

As a smart academic comrade wrote me from California, “these fascists can blame everything from wildfires to plane crashes on migrants and ‘wokeness’ (code word for women, brown, and black people).” (And for gay, trans, and disabled people, I would add.)

In the wake of last Wednesday night’s major air collision, it should be noted that Trump on his second day back in power fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and removed all the members of the nation’s Aviation Security Advisory Committee. The committee, mandated by Congress in 1988, “will technically continue to exist but it won’t have any members to carry out the work of examining safety issues at airlines and airports,” the Associated Press reported.

So again we have the OAFH not only falsely blaming “wokeness” but doing so while actively accelerating the causes of the tragedy.

Remember when an automotive terrorist killed 15 people in New Orleans a month ago? Trump blamed “illegal immigration,” supposedly enabled by woke Democrats, despite the fact that the attacker was a US military veteran and citizen born in Texas.

Remember when the young vaguely right-wing gun enthusiast Thomas Crooks came within an inch or two of becoming the OAFH’s assassin in Pennsylvania last summer? A host of Republi-fascists from JD Vance on down reflexively and preposterously blamed the shots on the “woke radical Left Dems” without the slightest hint of evidence.

And so it will continue to go, to paraphrase Vonnegut, unless and until we defeat these fascist monsters atop the US government.

Postscript

Two quick thoughts on the Republi-fascists absurdly and recurrently calling the Dems and the Biden demonstration “radical Left” and sometimes even “Marxist” and “communist”:

(i) The Democrats are a militantly capitalist-imperialist party. They are dedicated enemies of actually radical left folks - of Marxists, socialists, communists, and left anarchists. They have never advocated and will never advocate the socialist and communist transformation of government and society. They are also Weimar- and Vichy-like enablers and conciliators of the white Amerikaner Christian Fascism that has taken hold of the Republican Party in the Trump years.

(ii) An actually Radical Left and Marxist US government following Trump’s first administration – something that could not have existed without a socialist revolution in the US – would have incarcerated Trump and many of the people in high places in his administration and party. His mass murderous pandemo-fascist response to Covid-19 and his attempted coup in 2020-21 would have garnered him life imprisonment and isolation if not a harsher punishment.
