Seven points:
I was on the Revcoms’ weekly Revolution Nothing Less (RNL) Show last night with tape from being interviewed from Chicago on the DNC the day before. Go to a bit after 11:00 here to see and/or hear (I recommend doing both if possible) my neat conversation with RNL Show host Andy Zee.
I will put up at least two reflections on the DNC here in the next few days. The first reflection will dig into the ideology of the major speeches given at the convention (see the RNL interview linked above for a sense of some of what I’ll be writing). The second reflection will get into the protest movements and people I spoke to.
I know I’ve done a version of Dylan’s “The Man with the Long Black Coat” at least once here but I like this slowed down and largely talk-sung version and the instrumental mix I used on my old Yamaha CP300 earlier this morning. I am aware that some folks can’t hear my music very well on their set ups while other can hear it okay. Sorry about that. For what it’s worth, I consider myself an entry level music student with some promising skills, an A-minus doctoral-level Marxist, and a C+ but improving activist.
To state more concisely what I sort of sloppily said here (starting around 2:53) after the tune…is there something going on with subscribing to TPSR that I need to know about? I ask because I’ve gotten a few messages recently to the effect of “how do I get you some financial support for this Substack?” That’s new. One of the message writers related their difficulty in backing me to going through the Substack app.
That pic up top is Oreo the running dog communist sleeping through Pete Buttigieg’s DNC speech.
Admit it, this is the coolest Substack. You get reports from demos, dog pics, and music covers as well as revolutionary communist political analysis.
Substack went down for a while today. Don’t give up on it. I clearly have to make sure I have copies of everything I’ve written here.
